Our History
1948
The Origin
Everything began in 1948 in Inzino, a district of Gardone Val Trompia. Giovanni Bonomi, grandfather of the current partner Gianbattista Bonomi, opened a small workshop dedicated to general mechanical processing. In a reborn Italy, the workshop represented the first step of a technical legacy that would be passed down from father to son.
The 1950s
Specialization
The real turning point in the firearms sector came with the entry into the company of the founder's son, Gianni Bonomi, known to everyone as "Giannino". Together with his father, Giannino recognized the potential of the Val Trompia district and moved the business to the heart of Gardone, on Via San Carlo. Here, while maintaining general mechanical processing, specialized production of small parts and components for shotguns began: it was the era of actions, monoblocks and lugs produced with artisanal precision.
1960 - 1965
Consolidation
Until then, the business had grown in workshops set up in basements and garages, typical of Brescia’s industrious spirit of those years. In 1960, Gianni Bonomi felt the need for adequate space and moved the company back to Inzino, on Via Madonnina, building the first actual industrial facility. Five years later, in 1965, production made its definitive leap: the manufacturing of actual barrels began, which would become the symbol of the company.
1981
Transformation
AZM was founded. In 1981, the baton passed to the third generation. The company became AZM of Gianbattista Bonomi, son of Giannino. Under his leadership, AZM further specialized in the production of barrels and parts for hunting firearms, consolidating its reputation as a high-quality supplier in an increasingly demanding market.
1996
Expansion
Demand for AZM products grew steadily. To meet requests and strengthen production capacity, in 1996 Gianbattista decided to expand operations by opening a second plant in Bovezzo. This investment made it possible to separate and optimize workflows, bringing the company to an industrial scale.
2009 - Today
The Present
The final evolution took place in 2009, when AZM became the current CeB Srl. Today, the company combines the expertise of its two partners, Gianbattista Bonomi and Alessandro Costa. In this modern phase, CeB focuses exclusively on production excellence of sporting firearm barrels, both smoothbore and rifled, integrating advanced technologies (such as ECM) on a foundation of knowledge passed down through four generations.
