Mechanical Processing since 1948

CeB Srl has its roots in a long tradition of mechanical processing passed down from generation to generation. From the small artisan workshop founded in the post-war period, the company has evolved by following and anticipating the needs of the Brescia firearms district, progressively specializing in the production of high-precision barrels for sporting firearms.

Steady growth, supported by investments in facilities, expertise and technology, has led to the production of sporting firearm barrels that today represent the core of the company’s business. With the current CeB Srl, over seventy years of experience combine with cutting-edge production solutions, giving life to recognized excellence in the manufacturing of smoothbore and rifled barrels, the result of a perfect balance between traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation.

How Our Products Are Made

Lavorazioni Meccniche

Bar Selection and Cutting

The journey of every CeB product begins with the selection of raw materials. We use only special steel bars selected for their mechanical strength and resilience properties. The first stage involves cutting to size to prepare the bar for subsequent processing.

Deep Hole Drilling and Turning

Deep drilling is a critical operation requiring specific machinery to ensure perfect axial alignment of the bore. This is followed by turning of the external profile, where the raw bar takes its final shape, meeting the required weight and balance specifications.

Internal Geometries and Seats

At this stage we define the ballistic characteristics:

  • Machining of the chamber and choke seat with hundredth-millimeter tolerances.
  • Surface preparation for assembly stages.

Barrel Straightening

A process that ensures structural uniformity and optimal ballistic performance. Through automated systems, each barrel is checked and corrected to eliminate micro-deformations and internal stresses. This method ensures minimal tolerances, greater shooting stability and consistent repeatability.

Assembly and Brazing

Not only mechanics, but also technical expertise. We proceed with the assembly of components onto the barrel, followed by brazing. This process ensures that all parts are permanently joined, guaranteeing structural stability under stress.

Finishing and Internal Lapping

Internal perfection is what distinguishes a CeB barrel. We carry out internal lapping in preparation for chrome plating, eliminating even the slightest roughness and ensuring a “mirror-like” surface that reduces friction and facilitates cleaning. The process concludes with external bluing, providing the classic aesthetic finish and protection against corrosion.

Electrochemical (ECM) Machining

A dedicated chapter deserves the internal electrochemical machining process of our sporting firearm barrels.
ECM machining represents one of the company’s distinctive processes, essential for ensuring superior ballistic performance. This high-precision finishing process creates a perfectly uniform helical rifling inside the barrel, reducing surface micro-imperfections and optimizing projectile travel. The internal spiral imparts stable rotation that improves velocity, directionality and shooting accuracy. Furthermore, the excellent internal finish reduces friction and wear, contributing to a longer barrel lifespan. The result is a highly reliable component designed to meet the highest standards of modern sporting firearms.
